1. Introduction:
Long-term programs are offered all year round. They focus on Chinese language learning and culture experiencing. The School of International Education of SWJTU provides various Chinese language and cultural courses to international students. Students will be allocated to appropriate levels according to the results of Chinese language proficiency test on arrival. Experienced teaching staff and small class size ensure the most efficient teaching and learning.
2. Application Period and Semester Information
Application Deadline: January 15th (Spring Semester) & July 10th (Fall Semester)
Spring Semester: from February 26th to July 12th, 2024
Fall Semester: Approximately starting on September 1st
3. Chinese Learning Target
In the spring semester, there are zero beginning classes for Chinese learning. The learning target is to pass the HSK-3 level examination.
In the fall semester, there are mediate Chinese classes or zero beginning classes for Chinese learning. The learning target is to pass the HSK-5 or HSK-3 level examination.
4. Fees
a. Registration: 400 RMB/person
b. Insurance: 800 RMB/person/year
c. Tuition: 14,000 MB/person/academic years
d. Accommodation fee: 600 RMB/month/person (a single room in three-bedroom international student’s apartment on Xipu Campus, utilities not included.)
Note: Registration fee is not refundable. Once the class starts, all fees are not refundable; students can live off campus or apply for live in international student apartment if there is a room; one US dollar equals approximately to 7 RMB.

6. Application Materials
a. Notarized academic certificate. Please provide notarized translation if the documents are not in English or Chinese.
b. Academic Records. Please provide notarized translation if the documents are not in English or Chinese.
c. A copy of the applicant’s passport. Please ensure the passport is valid for 6 month at least before your visa application.
d. Foreigner Physical Examination Form (photocopy). The original copy should be kept by the applicant. The form is uniformly printed by Chinese healthy quarantine departments. It must be written in English and can be downloaded from https://en.swjtu.edu.cn/FOREIGNER_PHYSICAL_EXAMINAT_ON_FORM.pdf
The physical examinations must cover all of the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, or the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are considered as invalid. Please carefully plan your physical examination schedule as the result is valid for only 6 months.
e. Financial Guarantee Letter (in RMB or USD) issued by the bank and certified by the Chinese embassy or consulate. It must cover the tuition fees and living expense needed for study in China.
g. Applicants under the age of 18 shall submit relevant legal documents of his/her entrusted legal guardians in China.
